Can you tell that I have CASED just about everyone I could think of??? for my Flourishes challenge card "Getting Sentimental".The card almost does not qualify, the daffodil is way too dark. I did not mean for it to be this dark but I have trouble working with light colors and once I make a card I don't often change it. I even used a water pen after I stamped the floral image trying to tone down the fact that I was using SU cranberry crisp....yea yea I know, that is a dark color.....Maybe I will have to change it.....Anyway I stamped the sentiment over the daffodil and bordered it with a Spellbinder cut circle out of Euphoria paper. I layered over the basket weave background. The basket weave was done using a stamp given to the ladies that attended the Dream Week-end. It gives some amazing affects although it does have a learning curve to use this stamp, but WELL worth the effort.
As you can see I have not mastered using a border punch to make a square...OK I forgot how Jan showed us at the Flourishes Stamping Week-end. I did persist with several trials and many errors, now that I am finished I looked back at my paperwork to see how Jan taught us to cut.
You can see here where I got the idea for the way the image is stamped. Didn't Julie do a fantastic job.
Of course who wouldn't recognize Becca's bows???? And with silk ribbon, could that be something new coming soon to Flourishes????
After making the last card I thought I would try for another using the sentiment as the main focal image.......I feel I did a much better job this time.I again used Basic Grey's Euphoria DP, this time adding brads and a stick pin with just a hint of ribbon, the stamped butterfly was added as a finishing touch.
All in all about a 10 minute card.
It still amazes me at how much you can see by looking at a photograph of the cards I just made. I see all the things I would change if I were to make these cards over again, which I am not. I will try to do better next time and take a photograph to look at before gluing!!!!
Have a good Sunday night, and thanks for stopping by.

These are gorgeous and I can relate to the punch thing. I've tried several times to do that square and sometimes it works and sometimes not, LOL You did a great job on these, silk ribbon? Wow, that is gorgeous. I found the basket weave stamp works best if you lay the paper on it and gently rub it over the stamp, much easier!! Thanks for the ideas!
Love the pink daffodil!! I think I'm too late for the sentiment challenge, lets see what today brings, I just might make it :)
