Good grief! There is no hope for me, I made a card last Monday (week ago) for today's challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday! I forgot to get it posted. Maybe that is the biggest problem, I forget a lot!!! It is a good thing we have so many creative and talented people to keep me on track. even if I am a little late.

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC26)!!! It is also the last Tuesday of the month so we have a new guest challenge designer with us today. Please give a warm welcome for Deena Perreault(moonrise)!! Deana is challenging us to go monochromatic with our cards. Her challenge stipulations are ONE color or shades of that color along with ONE either white or cream card stock. All supplies and tools are allowed!!! So, let's see what you can create!!! We look forward to see what you do!!!

When I started my card I had just read how Teresa Momber designed her Water Lily card using
the reflection technique. While this lime is not a reflection but rather a reverse image, I used her technique to stamp my image.

I stamped the lemons from Lemons, Love and Life, on Classic White paper using Tuxedo Black ink. I re inked my stamp and stamped on an acrylic block which in turn I immediately stamped again on Classic White paper. Like Teresa said, the reverse image is a little blurred, but with coloring it became hard for me to tell which was the original and which was the reverse.

I colored both images with a combination of Copic Natural Blends: Fields, Evergreen, Daffodil, Buttercup, and the Colorless Blender.

After coloring I cut out the images, added a layer of glossy accents to the limes and affixed over the gingham checked dp.
The ribbon and bead caps are colored with my Copic markers to match the limes and paper.

Stamp: Lemons Love & Life
Ink: Copic Neutral Blends, Memento (black), Palette (chartreuse)
Paper: Classic White, CS & DP collected since I am still away from home.
Misc: Spellbinder dies, ribbon, bead caps

Flourishes Newsletter has more cards from the blog team, and some pretty amazing work too!

Tag challenge!

What better way to honor the talented ladies that do us the honor of highlighting Flourishes stamps each week with a challenge. Have you seen them on the Newsletter?
The latest challenge takes no time at all to make...... a tag! Now I did not use as many embellishments or bling as I could, but I like simple on rare occasions.
You can join in the challenge and unlike me, you can be a winner at Flourishes. All you have to do is leave a comment on Flourishes Newsletter with a link to your tag creation.
The tag was made with the long deckle retangles, I stamped on dp then colored with Micheals markers. When coloring, I used the same technique that I use when I color with my Copic markers, from lightest to darkest..............
All materials are either from Michaels, or pilfered from a friends supply of scrapbook supplies.

Stamp: Thank You Tulip

The final day of looking at Flourishes has in store for you, tonight you are able to add any or all of these three fabulous set to your collection or to start a collection of Flourishes stamps. If you love to color, and I do, if you like botanical, if you like variety, I do too! Now is a good time to acquire stamps from Flourishes!

Join us tonight at 9 PM EST for a Party with fun, fast, and fabulous chatting, card gallery, games! See you there at the SCS forum.

For my latest additions I have tired my hand at a beach scene, one that I can regular at home. Can't you feel the wind through your hair and the sand under your feet? Not really! There are no palm trees on Pensacola beach, at least on the Gulf side, but there is plenty of sand and breeze.

Why is it that some cards you make look fabulous IRL while others look best in photos, this is one of those images that look best in a pictures! I thought the whole scene was very flat looking after coloring with my Copic Water, Sky, Flesh tones 2, and one green water based marker...........I didn't bring all my Copics so I don't have a bright green. After taking a picture I see it does not appear to look "flat" at all.

Now if I had time to sit at the beach to enjoy the sunshine and watch the ships sail by. Well enough of that, it's back to work.

Stamp set: Beach Life
Paper: Flourishes Classic White, Jennie Bowlin black line
Ink: Copic Natural blend Collection, water, sky, and flesh tone 2
Misc: Spellbinder inverted square

By the Lake (Seaside Memories!)

And a big lake it is too, Lake Huron. For Florida residence is was a beautiful day (not too hot) to spend at the shore, of a BIG lake. Walking in the the COLD water, looking for shells? No rocks, guess you can't have everything. Just being with family, (my DS & DGD) having an outing for the day is priceless!

Something else I found priceless was seeing the American and Canadian flags flying side by side along the boardwalk in Port Huron and on the Canadian side. This was the first time I had ever been so close to Canada, or any country that borders the US.

We have new paper come in this last month, our 100 lb classic white and classic ivory, two new Basic Grey papers came in too, lemonade and june bug....Check them out along with a look at the second stamp set to be released. Here is a peak at what is in store for you on Friday....Sea Side Life...shells.

I covered the top of a tin box with jenni bowlin (black line) paper. I inked the shell with Palette burnt umber on Flourishes classic white paper and colored with Flourishes Copic Collection Flesh Tones 1

And Flesh Tones 2
The combination of the two shade tones worked well to get the coloring I wanted. After cutting out my image with Spellbinders and brushing on distressing ink I adhered the "label" to the top and a 1/2 inch strip around the base of the tin. I colored around the lid with the darkest Copic E29. The tin makes the perfect place to store all your sea side memories.
They all have great ideas and tips for using Sea Side Life! And don't forget to check out who won the strawberry set from yesterday.
Thanks for stopping by and see you back tomorrow for the final sneak peak!

Nothing So Sweet As Fresh Picked!

My grandson wants to do something with me "right now" besides e-mail, cause e-mail is boring. I will be back!

That was weeks ago, and as promised I am back with the first of three new releases this week. The first one is Strawberry, a luscious and sweet vision from Marcella Hawley.

All of Marcella's creations beg for coloring with Copic markers, here I used The Poppy Collection and green markers that are not in a set.

You can not go wring with a color scheme of red white pink and a touch, big touch of green.

The second card looks just picked in a with basket of sweet berries.
I again used the Poppy and the Delphinium Collection for a natural blending system of Copic markers. I stamped on Classic white paper, the very best paper I have found for Copic markers, a base layer for cards, a color layer. I love the weight and finish of this paper!
Stamp set: Strawberries
Ink: Copic Poppy collection, Delphinium collection, Palette burnt umber
Paper: Flourishes Classic white, red, black, white embossed dp and Jenni bowlin trendy mini paper
Embellishments: Finishing Touches Heart Stick pins, gold bead caps, same ribbon I have used on the last five cards (I am not at home with my ribbon horde), it is left plain white this time.
More peaks!!
Cindy
I almost forgot, IF you want to win all three new releases, got to Flourishes newsletter. You will find all information there, with clues!!??, to win these sets.

By the Sea, By The Sea, By the Beautiful..............

It is close to Flourishes release week again! What do we have in store for you this month? Well there are a couple of things going on.......we are continuing to except cards for the Wounded Warrior Project. With a gift certificate to the top three winners! Plus if your card is picked on Sunday it be featured in Flourishes newsletter. New card/s will be picked each Sunday in July.

Then for the next week we are having a challenge:
Summer nights, sunsets, the sound of waves crashing on the shore – what could be more relaxing? Because these are the sights and sounds of life on the beach - what better way to challenge you all to a fun contest than to invite you to bring a taste of of the ocean into your creations!

What a great opportunity to win all three July releases by entering in the challenge, it is easy even if you do not have any Flourishes stamps, yet. Read all about it on the newsletter!

I have made a few cards while on "vacation" with my grand kids. I tried to take as many of my supplies as I could think of as "must haves," watercolor paper, classic white and ivory, a couple of jennie bowlin dp Copic markers, Palette Inks, Spellbinders........of all types and of course my Flourishes stamps. The stamps and nesties did not take up much room as I have them all "packed" in clear boxes. I left my ATC at home but double sided tape does just as well. I brought my water pen but no water based markers or pads :-} .........Micheals..........I bought a 100 piece set of water based markers for $20, after all I have more markers at home than I will ever use.

I inked direct to polymer, I used my water pen, I inked direct to paper then used the water pen. I have been more than pleased with the results at a fraction of the cost, besides I did not want to use my Copic's on water color paper too often.......they soak in too much. That is not to say I do not use them on WCP because I did for the waterlily, it is the Hollyhock Collection.

I also did not bring much for embellishments so I took a lesson from Dee Jackson and colored the little tab of ribbon with Copic's, using RV04 in the Hollyhock Collection,
I added dots with the darkest color and a spot inside the dot using the blender pen.

If you enjoyed seeing this, even a little, take a look at what the senior DT has come up with; They are just stunning!
